This isn’t just a software update. This is a complete transformation — combining hardware upgrades with expertly calibrated engine and gearbox software to deliver power, control, and true AWD performance.
Engine & Performance Upgrades by Heuschmid
- Turbo: TD04L-16T with 9-blade turbine – fast spoolup and improved airflow. Designed for 300+ hp.
- Fuelinjectors: Bosch 550cc – clean, precise fuel delivery.
- Cooling/Exhaust: Upgraded intercooler and a custom Heuschmid exhaust for reliable, responsive performance.
Mackanized Software – Engine & Gearbox Optimization
Gearbox TCM (AF40-6):
- Corrected and increased torque limiters – now supporting up to 450 Nm.
- Faster, firmer gear shifts with real torque/load data – eliminating sluggishness.
- Increased clutch pressure for responsive kickdowns and confident shift feel.
Engine ECU (B207R):
- Over 450 limiters recalibrated – for proper torque reporting and safe power delivery.
- Calibrated for 95–100 octane EU fuel – reliable across a wide range of conditions.
- Improved XWD behavior – rear wheels engage faster and more predictably under load.

With proper torque modeling across the engine and gearbox, the XWD system reacts faster, the car shifts smoother and more decisively, and the entire drivetrain works in perfect harmony. The result is a Saab that drives like it always should have: confident, quick, and connected.
